Causr is a telehealth service that investigates the full picture behind depression, anxiety, burnout, and attention struggles — biological, psychological, and social — and builds a personalised protocol to address what is actually driving your symptoms. Including supported pathways off medication, for those who want one.

The problem
Around 3.9 million Australians are currently on antidepressants and a further 592,000 on ADHD medications. Most were prescribed medication without investigation of the biological, psychological, or social factors driving their symptoms. And many who want to stop have no safe, supported pathway to do so.
“Mental health is shaped by biology, by how we think and feel, and by the world we live in. Treating only one piece rarely leads to lasting recovery.”
Nutrient deficiencies, gut health, hormones, inflammation, and genetic variants that shape how we produce and process neurotransmitters all shape how we feel biologically. Our thoughts, emotions, behaviours, and past experiences shape how we respond psychologically. And our relationships, environment, work, finances, and culture all affect our mental health in ways that no blood test can capture. Conventional care rarely investigates any of these in depth — and almost never looks at all three together.
What we look at
How Causr works
We explore your full story — biological history, emotional patterns, life circumstances, relationships, and environment — not just your symptoms.
A combination of biomarkers and at-home test kits — covering genetics, gut microbiome, hormones, nutrients, inflammation, and methylation.
A personalised plan addressing your biology, your thought and behaviour patterns, and the social and environmental factors shaping your mental health.
Regular check-ins, protocol adjustments, and clinician access throughout your programme.
For those who want it — a supervised, evidence-based pathway to safely reduce or stop medication.

I took antidepressants. They didn’t help. When I tried to stop, the withdrawal was severe — and my GP had no answers. That experience sent me into functional medicine, where I finally found what was actually driving my symptoms.
In clinical practice, I watched the same pattern play out with my patients — people medicated without any real investigation of what was driving their distress. No one asked about their gut health, their nutrient levels, their thought patterns, their relationships, or the pressure of the life they were living. They were told they had a broken brain. What they had was an uninvestigated person. There is a better way — and that’s what Causr is.
